Use Video To Find Your Ideal Employees

How are you finding your ideal employees?

Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Central Striping Service on a video to help with recruitment. Their goal was to hire in alignment with their company values and culture.

The video is used on their website, social channels, and can be sent out to applicants before they do their first interview.

How much time and money could an investment like this save your company over the long run?

If you found just one more great employee per year by putting out the right message from the get-go, how would that affect your bottom-line and company morale?

My main takeaways from this project and pieces of advice I have for others are:

You don’t need to be in the video if you’re camera shy. You can record VoiceOver like in this example.

Include your company leaders AND employees in the conversation about what it’s like working at your company. Both perspectives are necessary to build trust with your prospects.

This video is entirely unscripted. Unrehearsed answers feel more authentic and it’s usually because they are.

Shoot/Record your interviews first. Let the answers guide your creative choices for B-Roll.

Pick music that is unique to your company culture and the tone of the video if you want to stand out. Too many businesses use the same generic, corporate type of music.

I’m really proud of how this one turned out and I think it was a great collaboration with Jackson Zrubek and the team at CSS.
